The story begins with a radio signal being broadcast out into space. This particular signal is announcing that Pluto will no longer be classified as a planet. The signal travels across the solar system until it reaches Pluto.

When Pluto hears the announcement he gets upset, venting to nearby Neptune, and ultimately deciding to take his anger out on Earth by crashing into it and destroying it. So Pluto hurls himself through space. As he passes by other planets they mock him ("I've got moons bigger than you").

Pluto eventually comes to Earth, crashing towards the planet's surface. Ironically, however, Pluto burns up in the atmosphere and finally plunks to the ground as a harmless smoldering pebble.
